iHeater FAQ'sQ. How does the iHeater work? A. Air is drawn into the iHeater with an extra quiet fan from the back of the unit through a lifetime reusable filter passed over the PTC Quartz Infrared Heating Element where it is gently heated and transferred to the specially cured copper plates near the air outlet. From the copper plates the Infrared heated air is transferred to the moisture molecules in the air and then from molecule to molecule evenly heating the objects in the area. The room heats evenly from wall to wall and floor to ceiling. All heated air eventually rises but Infrared heat does it slowly and evenly with only a few degrees difference from floor to ceiling. ________________________________________ Q. Is the iHeater safe to use? A. Yes. The iHeater can be placed against the wall or furniture without the risk of a fire. The iHeater does not release any energy into the air that will burn or harm anyone. For that reason the iHeater is safe for children and pets. ________________________________________ Q. Can the iHeater heat more rooms at the same time? A. Yes, if placed in a central room and with the help of ceiling fans. It does depend on how open your floor plan is, the sizes of the rooms, and how insulated the rooms are. _________________________________________ Q. Can I use the heaters in a basement or garage? A. Yes, but because of the bare concrete floor it absorbs some of the heat, so putting the heater a few feet above the floor or on a rug will allow for more efficient heating. _________________________________________ Q. Can you use more heaters at once? A. Yes, but each iHeater should be on a different circuit in your home or office. _________________________________________ Q. Why is it that this quartz infrared heating source uses less energy to create heat than other sources? A. The iHeater Infrared Portable Heater doesn’t use burning heat. Once the heat exchanger takes in the infrared heat, it releases the heat into the air which is carried by the humidity in the air. This causes the heat to travel fast and equally throughout a room. The iHeater Quartz Infrared Heater efficiency is based on the spreading of energized air, not on just fan movement. This heat is coined as “soft heat” because of how comfortable it is. _________________________________________ Q. What advantages does the infrared quartz tube heating source have over other heating source products? A. In the iHeater system, electricity is used to generate infrared light which then creates a very safe heat. Infrared is the safest type of heat because it does not create carbon monoxide or harmful radiation. Infrared heat doesn't get to a burning temperature. _________________________________________ Q. Are there filters that need replaced? A. The iHeaters use a lifetime washable air filter. _________________________________________ Q. How many amps are required? A. 12.5 amps are required. The heater pulls around 11-12 amps for the first few minutes while heating up. After it gets warmed up that drops to around 6-7 amps. That’s how it saves you money. It will continue to produce heat without using much electricity. It is designed to be used in a 15 amp receptacle. At 8 1/2 cents per kilowatt hour, our units run at .065 cents per hour. _________________________________________ Q. How many BTU's does this heater use? A. IH1000 uses 5100 BTU’s. IH1500 uses 2000 BTU's to heat 500 sq. ft., 3500 BTU's for 1000 sq. ft. and 6000 BTU's to heat 1500 sq. ft. We measure our heat in square footage. The IH1000 model has capacity to heat up to 1000 sq. ft. and the IH1500 has the capacity to heat up to 1500 sq. ft. for around $1 a day. _________________________________________ Q. What is the cabinet made of? A. The iHeater is made of high impact ABS material, and is virtually indestructible. ________________________________________ Q. Do you ship iHeaters to Canada? A. We do and they are shipped via UPS ground Canada ________________________________________ Q. What type of heating chamber does the iHeater have? A. The iHeater is equipped with a copper heating chamber. ________________________________________ Q. What is the normal delivery time? A. Standard delivery time is 7-10 days. ________________________________________ Q. What are the dimensions of the iHeater? A. 17" high x 13” wide x 15” deep ________________________________________ Q. What's the difference between the iHeater and Eden Pure? A. This is a different brand heater, but it's very similar to the Eden Pure. We are able to heat up to 50% more area with less energy. The iHeater uses a new technology (titanium oxide coated metal heating element) which lasts for about 60,000 hours. Eden Pure is still using the quartz bulbs. According to EdenPure themselves, the life expectancy on the Gen 500 is about 20,000 hours and about 30,000 hours for the Gen 1000. ________________________________________ Q. Which is better the Eden Pure or iHeater? A. The Eden Pure is a great product – to say anything bad about them would be saying our product is also bad. Any infrared heater you buy will save you money on your heating bill and uses the same technology. What makes our heater great is the 60,000 hour life or our titanium oxide coated, full metal, virtually indestructible heating element. A lot of similar heaters are using older technology like light bulbs which are easily broken. The bottom line is you want to save money right? ________________________________________ Q. What type of fan does the iHeater use? A. The iHeater uses a "squirrel cage" type fan that runs on DC to conserve energy. ________________________________________ Q. Do I need extra filters? A. There's no need for additional filters because the iHeater has a lifetime built in air filter that is washable. ________________________________________ Q. Will this help keep my floors warmer? A. State-of-the-art technology used in the iHeater infrared heating system prevents you from experiencing temperature differences between floor and ceiling like you would with conventional heating systems. In fact, there is no more than a 2 degree fahrenheit difference. ________________________________________ Q. Does the heat stay close to the floor? A. Most modern day heating systems are designed to distribute the heat from the ceiling. The unique design of the iHeater infrared heating system prevents heat from being wasted and concentrates on where it's needed the most. ________________________________________ Q. How long have you been in business? A. The company has been in business for 14 years, but this is a fairly new product for us. ________________________________________ Q. Will this unit take the humidity out of the air? A. The iHeater does not take the humidity out of the air like most electric heaters. ________________________________________ Q. You could turn the heat down and the room with the iHeater will stay warm and comfortable. The iHeater is a portable heater and when moved to another room, quickly heats that room. The iHeater is made to supplement your home's normal heating system. i.e. - If your furnace is cycling (coming on) every 10 minutes (6 times per hour), the goal of the iHeater is to cause your furnace to turn on less. If your furnace only turns on 3 times per hour using the iHeater, then your heating bill will be cut nearly in half! Note: every home is different, results will vary. ________________________________________ Q. How do you arrive at the Heat up to 1000 sq. ft. for about $1 per day. A. This is only an example but if you had the iHeater regulating heat and it was running all day it may only be using electricity at 1000 watts for an average of 12 hours a day (even the wattage will vary based on your model and floor plan) but at .09 per residential kilowatt per hour (yours may vary) that would be $1.08 per day. ________________________________________ Q. What are the electrical specifications and energy consumption of the iHeater? A. The iHeater uses approximately 11-12 amps while it is in the warming up process. Once the heating element has reached its peak, the amperage will drop to 6-7 amps used. Electrical Voltage: 120V-60Hhz. Power consumption: 600-1500 Watts. ________________________________________ Q.
